Munigua — Villanueva del Río y Minas

Purpose of the site
Roman municipium in the Sierra Morena, known for the terraced sanctuary that still dominates the hill.

Working theory
Mining hinterland town with a monumental podium temple. German Archaeological Institute work is the modern reference.

Period
Roman Imperial. Seville province.

Visit status
Open archaeological landscape / restricted if fenced. No invented phone. Empty hours.

The terraces read as a small hillside forum-plus-temple, not a copy of Italica’s amphitheatre (already listed separately).
